1. Nallikar Winter Village is a favourite destination for children

The Winter Village is the hub of winter activities! The Winter Village in Nallikari is open from February to early April.

The Winter Village is full of winter activities: reindeer, ATVs for children, tuba hills, a sleigh ride, a sleigh ride, a snow maze, the Foolish Cups from the Frenzy Park and the Magic Carousel in the Carousel Pavilion offer a memorable winter day.

Also new for this winter is the newly completed restaurant. Hot drinks, doughnuts, waffles, sausages and other snacks are available in the winter village.

2. The Sanginjoki River in winter invites you to get carried away on the slopes

The renewed trails of the Sanginjoki Nature Reserve invite you to get excited on the slopes! The tour is topped off with a bottle of coffee or hot chocolate at Loppula's nature café.

On Saturday 1.3. and Saturday 8.3. there will be family outdoor days in Loppula. Saturday 1.3. is the start of the skiing holiday and the Oulu furry chamois with their dogs and the Northern Finland Chapter of the Finnish Nature Society, which organises a guided nature trail in the nearby landscape of Loppula. The trail is easy to follow and there are various nature-related tasks along the way. You can walk the trail on your own for a whole week. On Saturday 8 March, there will also be a guided nature trail and yard games.

There will be a track for the youngest members of the family in a field near Loppula. At the Nature House, children can try out snowshoes and snowmobiles free of charge, and adults can try out forest skis and snowshoes. A brand new slide in the courtyard invites visitors to try out the free slides and slides.

The Loppula Nature Café is open throughout the ski holiday week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come and enjoy the winter delights in atmospheric Loppula!

The Oulu Art Museum's exhibition programme, focusing on forests and biodiversity, celebrates the book of life and all that we can still save. The year will start with forest-themed exhibitions featuring contemporary jewellery art and forest-focused collections.

  • KORU8 - International Jewellery Triennial, 24.1.-13.4.2025: An exhibition of contemporary jewellery art takes you into the woods. The common denominator behind the forest jewellery is longing. The exhibition features 47 artists or groups of artists from more than 20 countries. The triennial is produced by the Jewellery Art Association. 
  • From the same tree, 24.1.-13.4.2025: The collection exhibition reflects on contemporary man's relationship with the forest and ways of being in nature through art. From the same tree brings to Oulu Art Museumnew acquisitions and artists linked to our region. The exhibition is part of the regional responsibility museum project.
